1. Company Overview
PetTrek Express provides professional pet transportation services throughout the United States. Our services may include transportation of dogs, cats, and other companion animals between breeders, owners, exhibitors, veterinarians, boarding facilities, airports, and other approved locations.
Our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation; however, transportation of live animals inherently involves risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
2. Eligibility
By using our services, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You are the lawful owner of the pet being transported or have authority from the owner to arrange transportation.
- All information provided to PetTrek Express is accurate and complete.
- You have the legal right to enter into this agreement.
3. Transportation Requests
All transportation services are subject to availability, route schedules, weather conditions, road conditions, health considerations, and other operational factors.
Submitting a transportation request does not guarantee acceptance of the booking. PetTrek Express reserves the right to decline any transportation request for any lawful reason, including concerns regarding safety, health, animal behavior, logistics, or regulatory compliance.
4. Health Requirements
For the safety of all animals in our care, customers must disclose all known medical conditions, behavioral concerns, and special needs before transportation.
Customers may be required to provide:
- Current vaccination records
- Health certificates
- Veterinary documentation
- Medication instructions
- Emergency contact information
PetTrek Express reserves the right to refuse transportation of any animal that appears ill, injured, aggressive, contagious, or otherwise unsuitable for transport.
5. Owner Responsibilities
Pet owners and breeders are responsible for ensuring that:
- All information provided is accurate.
- The pet is healthy enough for travel.
- Required veterinary documentation is provided.
- The pet is properly identified.
- Any medications accompany the pet with written instructions.
- Pickup and delivery arrangements are coordinated in advance.
Failure to provide accurate information may result in cancellation of transportation services without refund.
6. Pickup and Delivery
PetTrek Express will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed pickup and delivery schedules. However, transportation times are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Delays may occur due to:
- Traffic conditions
- Weather events
- Mechanical issues
- Road closures
- Emergency situations
- Animal welfare considerations
- Other unforeseen circumstances
Customers acknowledge that transportation schedules may be adjusted as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of transported animals.
7. Fees and Payment
Transportation fees will be quoted prior to service whenever possible.
Payment terms may include deposits, full prepayment, or payment upon delivery, as determined by PetTrek Express.
Customers agree to pay all applicable charges, including:
- Transportation fees
- Additional handling charges
- Route modification fees
- Veterinary expenses incurred during transport
- Emergency care expenses
- Collection costs for unpaid balances
Failure to make timely payment may result in cancellation of services or legal collection efforts.
8. Deposits and Cancellations
Deposits may be required to reserve transportation services.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
- Last-minute cancellations may result in additional fees.
- No-shows may result in forfeiture of all payments made.
PetTrek Express reserves the right to cancel transportation services due to safety concerns, weather conditions, route changes, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond our control.
9. Veterinary Care Authorization
In the event of illness, injury, or medical emergency during transportation, the customer authorizes PetTrek Express to obtain veterinary treatment deemed reasonably necessary for the health and welfare of the animal.
The customer agrees to be solely responsible for all veterinary expenses, emergency treatment costs, medications, transportation expenses, and related charges incurred on behalf of the animal.
10. Animal Behavior
Customers must disclose any history of:
- Aggression
- Biting
- Anxiety disorders
- Escape behavior
- Special handling requirements
PetTrek Express reserves the right to refuse, discontinue, or modify transportation if an animal presents a risk to itself, other animals, our personnel, or the public.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetTrek Express shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from the use of our services.
While we exercise reasonable care in transporting animals, customers acknowledge that transportation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Stress-related illness
- Injury
- Disease exposure
- Unexpected medical complications
- Delays
- Weather-related issues
- Accidents beyond our control
PetTrek Express does not guarantee that transportation will be completely free from risks.
12. Maximum Liability
Except where prohibited by law, PetTrek Express's maximum liability for any claim arising from transportation services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific transportation service giving rise to the claim.
Under no circumstances shall PetTrek Express be liable for emotional distress, loss of future breeding income, loss of show earnings, loss of business opportunities, or consequential damages.
13. Force Majeure
PetTrek Express shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, or failure to perform services resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Severe weather
- Pandemics
- Government actions
- Labor disputes
- Civil unrest
- Road closures
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Acts of God
14. Website Use
Users may access our website solely for lawful purposes.
You agree not to:

By utilizing our services, customers grant PetTrek Express permission to use photographs of transported animals unless a written opt-out request is submitted prior to transportation.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PetTrek Express, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Information you provide.
- The behavior or condition of your animal.
- Your violation of applicable laws.
- Claims brought by third parties related to your use of our services.
18. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiations between the parties.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing litigation.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located within Alabama, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
21. No Waiver
Failure by PetTrek Express to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
22. Changes to These Terms
PetTrek Express reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms become effective upon posting to the website unless otherwise stated.
Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
